It's been a busy month...

I finally got to see Adam (July 8-17th) for the first time since May!! Yaaay!!!

Spaz

It was an awesome week and a half getting to spend time with his family. We also went to the wedding of Adam's cousin. It was a blast. Adam even did karaoke Vanilla Ice at the request of his cousin (and totally NAILED all of it). It was fun dancing. And I found out that 12 rum and cokes make me feel nooooooo pain. (Once again, shine, halo, shine!) Hahahaaa. It was a total blast.

Dancing

Adam insisted he could take the picture himself. So here's me and most of him.

Seated from left to right: me, Adam, Debbie, and Bryan (Adam's parents). Standing up behind us: Adam's aunt Betty and her boyfriend.

Good times.

-------------------------------

Then we got to move Adam into his new studio apt up in Blacksburg, which sadly meant saying goodbye to 7600K at Foxridge as well as Adam's roommate Luke. That apartment has so many good memories attached to it. Our last night in it, we stayed up till 4am goofing off just like old times.

While we were cleaning out the fridge, Luke found a half gallon of milk with an expiration date that was from May. This is what it looked like:

And this is what it looked like after we strapped explosives to it:

And here are the remains of it after some pyrotechnics out back of their apt:

Yes, it was completely DISGUSTING!!! (We cleaned up the mess afterwards.) After that, Luke and Adam got bored so they started playing with an electric drill. (This is why men have a "Y" chromosome... cuz it stands for "WHY?!?") Anyways, I've given up on trying to understand their trains of thought, I just try to minimize the damage afterwards. Haha.

Adam being his goofball self.

Here Luke is trying to attach the tail of a Victoria's Secret stuffed animal (dog) to his electric drill.

And here is Luke spinning the dog at full speed on the drill.

Here's what was left of the poor dog after many spins on the drill.

What can I say? We went out with a bang. It was a fun night of debauchery for old time's sake.

-------------------------------

Abbie and her husband Marcus definitely deserve a MAJOR shout out for getting me the 7th Harry Potter book!!! It was freakin amazing!!

Bravo

But also a lil sad cuz it's the last book of the series.

Crying 1

What can I say? I'm a major Potterhead. A big HUGE thanks to Adam for surprising me with tickets to be one of the first people in the country to get to see the newest Harry Potter movie!!!

I Love You

(And also a big hooray for Daniel Radcliffe-the actor who plays Harry Potter-finally being legal! Hee hee.)
Angel 2 Shine halo, shine!

Self-Chuck of the week: Promises Rehab Center in California. I've never heard of so many stars having to keep going back to the same rehab place after consistently relapsing. Case in point: Lindsay Lohan: she spent almost 2 months there to get clean of alcohol and cocaine. Then a week ago she hijacks a car to chase down her assistant who quit, and here's the kicker... when the cops got there she had cocaine in her pocket!!! WTF?? Lindsay AND Promises Rehab can proceed to the nearest wall. Lindsay'll need some alcohol and a car to be able to hit the wall though.

Butthead of the week: This one goes to Jeff Marx, the new GM of WDBJ7 on the grounds that he is a complete moron who doesn't know his own ass from a hole in the wall. Some of you will understand this one and appreciate it. Some won't.

Fine of the week: Sadly this one goes to me again. I was talking to Adam on the phone the other night and I was trying to come up with a word that I was blanking on, so I started describing it to him so he could help me come up with the word. Here's how it went:

me: what's that game where you've got the pin thing that launches the ball?

Adam: pinball?
me: Bag Head not one of my prouder moments, by in my own self-defense, I am blonde. And anyways, one of the former sports reporters at WDBJ7 Steve Mason had a worse one... he actually said ON THE AIR "What's that game with the music and the chairs?" Hahahaa.

I've gotta go get ready for a doc appt tonight... Bye for now!

It's been a long time, I know...

Sorry y'all, it's been a rough couple of months. Spent a decent amount of time in the hospital due to a prescription drug reaction that it took them 3 weeks to figure out. Let's see... what else has been going on... It's been 2 months since I've gotten to see Adam (my boyfriend of 3 and a half years, for those of you who are new to my blog). You'd think after 4 summers of his being in Chesapeake and me being in Roanoke/Blacksburg, I'd be more used to doing the long-distance thing by now. But to be honest, it still blows. Bigtime. But thankfully I get to see him tomorrow for the first time since early May!!!! Woohoooo!! I'll be spending a lil over a week in Chesapeake (hellooooo beach!) but I'll be updating my blog while I'm gone.

Oh, I don't know how I could have forgotten about it, but my best friend of 22 years Abbie came up on Wednesday, June 20th and whisked me away to North Carolina till July 2nd to get to spend some much-needed girlie time together. It was awesome to be back in North Carolina. We had such a blast. Good movies, not so good movies (*cough* "Alpha Dog" *cough*), good wine, good company... it was just like old times! Sometimes life blesses you with people who may not be family in the literal sense of the word, but end up becoming closer to you than some family... Abbie's the sister I had to find on my own. (This topic also deserves a major shout-out to my Adopted-Mom and adopted-siblings.)

-------------------------

So I'm gonna straight-up gank an idea from Andy Roddick's blog cuz I think it's kinda funny... from now on there are going to be three topics per week:

Self -Chuck of the week: Something someone does that prompts me to encourage them to throw themself into a wall.

Butthead of the Week: Someone in the world whose actions make them a butthead… pretty self-explanatory.

Fine of the Week: I'll be posting the dumbest thing that someone should be fined for. Not meant to be hurtful, just done in good fun.

It'll make more sense as you read them, I promise. And some will be funnier than others.

So for the first time...

Self-Chuck of the Week: Paris Hilton deciding that after a mere 20-some days in a cushy jail that's she's a "changed woman" and has seen how she needs to turn her life around, blah blah blah. Bullshit. There's a better chance of Britney Spears not flashing her underwearless crotch to the paparazzi. Paris, proceed to the nearest wall.

Butthead of the Week: One of my cats, Sapphire. She has now (somehow) figured out how to unzip luggage. I went downstairs to add some more laundry to my zipped-up suitcase when I notice that Saph had unzipped my suitcase and spread the contents all over the floor of my room, essentially unpacking everything I'd already packed. And to top it all off, she was laying IN the open suitcase with this condescending "HAH!" look on her face. Thanks a lot.

Fine of the Week: Sadly, this one goes to me... So I'm doing laundry today so I'll actually have clothes to pack for Chesapeake... It took me at least 10 minutes to figure out why the clothes were still dirty after having gone through a full wash cycle. It turns out that putting laundry detergent IN the washer with the clothes tends to help the cleaning process. I guess I was in auto-pilot from already having done 3 loads of laundry, but yes, I'm a dumbass.

-------------------------

(Sorry for the lack of smilies and pics in this post... I'm not writing this on my own computer so I don't have the program that lets me make the posts more interesting, rather than just all text.)

-------------------------

I guess that's all for now... I've got some repacking to do (courtesy of Saph) and my tummy is rumbling for some dinner.

I apologize again for being absent from the blogging world for so long.

Hi Y'all...

This post is gonna end up being pretty short cuz not much has been going on.

First off, both of my favorite tennis players (Roddick and Nadal) have been eliminated from the Australian Open, so I am now rooting for whomever can beat Roger Federer because I just reeeally wanna see him lose.

Secondly, I'm probably gonna be a lil more scarse on the blogging for the next few days cuz I've gotta have surgery at 9am today since the docs STILL can't figure out what's wrong. And I've had this surgery before and last time it knocked me down for the count, so I dunno how long it'll take me to get back to some semi-normalcy. Since the surgery is at 9am, I have to be at the hospital by 7am, and since my dad is such a perky morning person, he's decided we should leave no later than 6:20am (aka approximately an hour from now) even though it does NOT take 40 minutes to get to the hospital. Oh well.

Oh, and the whole "not eating before surgery" thing BLOWS. I'm so hungry that dog food commercials are starting to look tasty, and that's not good.

Anyways, I hope everyone's week finishes well and y'all have a great weekend!

Yaaaay for tennis!

(Don't pass out Joff! Your eyes are not fooling you! I am actually posting on my blog again this soon! Shocking, isn't it??)

Shocked

---------------------------------------

I'm definitely enjoying the Australian Open being shown live on ESPN because just when every other channel switches over to those obnoxious late-night infomercials, the Australian Open coverage starts at 3:30am! Amen for Australia being so many time zones away!

Wakka Wakka

My absolute favorite player Andy Roddick is taking on Marat Safin in the 3rd round. (Go Andy!!!) It's looking to be a really good match so far.
---------------------------------------
Andy's known for his big serve, so hopefully this will be him acing Safin and kickin some bootaaay...
Tennis Ace
---------------------------------------
And hopefully this will be Roddick after beating Safin...
Game Set Match

---------------------------------------
Yes, I'm a dork. But watching Roddick play is taking my mind off the pain the meds don't alleviate, and it's heaven to be laying in bed snuggling with both my kitties while watching Andy Roddick's beautiful self playing tennis on tv.

Cool

And while I'll be disappointed if Roddick loses, there'll still be Rafael Nadal (another cutie, and probably my 2nd favorite player) to watch for the remainder of the Australian Open.

Randomness...
I know I probably overuse smileys, but hey, I think they're cute. And I think they do a nice job of breaking up the posts so it's not just constant text.
Out of curiousity though, lemmie know if you are annoyed by the quantity of smilies I use in my blog. And you can be honest cuz I've grown quite a thick skin in the past few years.
---------------------------------------
More randomness...
Look! It's a little smiling tennis ball! ---> Bright Green
---------------------------------------
Oh, medical update for those who are interested...
Turns out I've gotta have another surgery next Thursday (the 26th) cuz they STILL can't figure out what's wrong with my tummy. Bleah. Part of it is to fix some bleeding, and part of it is exploratory to try and figure out what else could possibly be causing all the other intestinal symptoms I've been having since LAST FEBRUARY. Argh. Seems to just be par for the course in terms of my medical saga.
---------------------------------------
Well Roddick's starting to struggle a little and Emmie's begging for attention, so I'ma go do some more kitty snuggleage while I root Andy on.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!! And just remember...
It's almost the weekend!

Here's a round of applause for those of you with Monday through Friday jobs for making it through another week...

G'night y'all. Or rather, g'mornin!
